Are the 1963 Corvette Fender Louvers supposed to be high gloss or low gloss?

1963 Corvettes did not have fender louvers. If you are referring to the "simulated louvers" on the front fenders, they were painted with the rest of the car. So, the paint is no different than it was on any other part of the body.

Seems I remember that the above the split line upper surfaces were only areas buffed, the louver area would be 'as sprayed' to be really authentic, not glossy as in clear coat etc. used today.

Larry, The Florida Chapter has many members that are familiar with the judging of the paint application process. Depending on where you live in Florida I suggest you chat with an experienced Exterior Judge about how the paint should look. Have him look at your car, I see that it got a TF this year so you are probably OK. What was your paint deduction, it was either 0%, 20%, 50% or 100%.
