Metal Tag On Seat Back Spring Frame

I picked up an extra set of 63 seat frames from a DriveLine NCRS member. I plan on having them fully restored / recovered / show quality through Knoch based on all the positive feedback. I noticed a small tag stamped with numbers attached to the spings on the seat back. Can anyone shed some light on these numbers and do you think it would be wise to remove the tag before sending the seats out.

Its not clear to me if the tag belongs in more visible location and if so, where.

Is the number 3843265 or 3824313?

I don't have the seats at home but i do think it began with 382. I will get the full number tomorrow.

Back in 1980 or so when I sent out my 1966 seats to be recovered I noticed the metal tags. After I finally got a 1966 assembly manual the numbers on the tags matched the part numbers of the seat frames. If you have a 1963 assembly manual look on Sect. 1, Sheet D2.00 (back seat cushion asm.) and D3.00 (frame asm.) for the part numbers.

Here is a picture of the tag SG 3824313-10.

It was bent around one of the springs. So it makes sense that it is one of the part numbers for the seat frame. I mentioned that the seats are being brought up to new condition / judging level and I now need to know were these tags would have been attached from the factory. I guess if they were buried within the frame underneath everything it really doesn't matter but if not I would at least like to attach them to the correct location(s).

That's where the factory put them. Not a judged item because not visible when installed.
