1973 Heater Blower Motor Date Code

As I continue to clean in preparation for next week's Regional in Bend OR., I found another component that appears to have a date code. The blower motor is labeled:

    Delco Products
    Dayton Ohio U.S.A.
    5044 760 A9 11 72

    See attached

Not sure if the A9 has anything to do with it but I'm thinking the 11 72 denotes November '72, perfect for my December "72 car. Anyone else seen this or documented it ?? I don't see anything in the '73-'74 JG or my '73 AIM, or is this another one covered in the new '70-'72 JG ?? Any input you have would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    John

Some of us know about that, but it is so hard to see we don't mention it or much look for it during judging. It is nice to know about if you are looking for parts though.

Thanks Terry, do you know if the A9 is part of the 5044 part number or the 11/72 date code ??

        Hi John,
Here are a couple pictures from my blower motor on my April 30th car. Sorry for the quality but it wasn't easy getting the camera and lighting up under there to take the picture. I can see why Terry mentioned how hard it is to see. You may notice that the markings are in different positions on my car than yours. In the first pic you can make out Delco Products around the top edge and the very faint 5044 part # and the clear 790. In the second picture you can see the Dayton, Ohio along with what I believe to be a Julian style date code. 5 T 79 3. 79th day of 73. Which was March 20th. I hope that's a correct decode.
Hope you find this info useful.
        Regards,
        Jimmy

Jim, very interesting. Perhaps the difference is left over '72 blower motors vs. newer '73 version. Also an interesting possibly would be AC vs. non-AC cars. If I remember right your car does not have AC, correct ??

I do not know the meaning of the A9 stamp, but you have the date code right.
