I remember well the outlined white letters for the Goodyear GT Radial. Standard size was 225/70 x 15, while 255/60 x 15 was optional and required some t******* of the fender lip by the factory.

255/60 was a separate option available on any '78, but I'm not sure if it was standard with the Pace Car package.

The tire size mentioned (255/60R15 Goodyear GT Radial) were standard on the limited edition pace car replicas and optional on the other models for 78 and 79 with the t******* of the front fender.

The Kelsey P255/60R15 tire was featured in a Corvette Enthusiast article a few years back when first introduced. The only difference between it and an original P255 tire cosmetically is the date code on the white outline letter side. Otherwise, an original tire could have safety issues if used on the road.
