    1962 door weather strip

The weather strips for the 62 vette door have plastic push pins to install them. Is it a good idea to also use some weather strip glue to secure them better.
The drip rail in the door opening screws on but should there also be some adhesive to seal the little gutter and keep water from running down the door onto the carpet? I believe 62 is the only year with this drip rail.

Memory is a little rusty, but I pretty sure the factory used glue as well as the pushpins. As to the gutters, dum-dum was used to make a water tight seal.

      Definately us 3M weatherstrip adhesive.
The yellow is "correct", the black works much better.

Metal drip rails and auxiliary weatherstrips are not unique to 62--they were similar from 58-62 (and later 57 as well if I remember correctly)

I took the drip rails off so long ago I lost the screws and don't recall what the were. Flat head, pan head, phillips and were they painted body color?
              Thanks

They are identical to the screws that hold the trunk cardboard to the sides and bottom in the trunk. Painted body color because the drip rails, sealer, and screws were already in place.
