3860518 Bolt

What is the spec for this?

If you search it you find three posts with conflicting information (now 4 posts)

1. 5/16-18 X 3/4 with L/W

2. 5/16-18 X 7/8 with CFW, similar to but smaller washer that 3846202

I think it is used in 67 for the female hood catch. It is called out for the 64 hool release to dash cross brace/body hinge pillar brace.

Larry,
I find the 3860518 used in 64,65,66 and from what you published in 67 also. So the pn was around in 64 onward. Have original in my 64 if that would help. No luck on searching that number however.

Alan - yes just describe yours. I'm guessing it would be similar to this: 5/16-18X3/4 indented hex with conical washer 5/8 dia. Black Phosphate headstamp E....but what do you have?

Here is what I have, did not take off so do not know the size. The head appears to be marked "E" which is a typical bolt marking used in 1964. They are recessed heads. (From a Mar64 car, only a sample of 1) Sorry about poor photo.

thanks Alan - here is what I figured out. This part was not added to the AIM until mid December after my car was built, just an AIM error leaving assembly to use whatever they choose prior to that which is likely the ones just next door on the steering column and parking brake which are 3846202 or 3847758. I'm going to put in repro E stamp 6202s
