Couple of Chevrolet/Corvette Pictures to Share;Old & New

Since we are all Chevrolet and Corvette fans I thought I would share some pictures with you.

I could be wrong but the assemble line of the 58 Chevrolets was the Janesville WI plant which
is now closed. I took a tour of this plant several years ago.

Other picture is one on the future Corvette; what do you think of this "buggy"??

In Wisconsin, we used to call our Chevies "Janesville Jackrabbits".

That photo would make Henry Ford breakout in hives: with the different body styles and different paint schemes all shuffled together in the line.

You have to admit, the '58 Chevy was one good looking car. Coincidence, that was 58 years ago.

I agree, a good looking car, and I think 58 was the first use of the name Impala as a model designation!?

Correct you are Alan. I was 8 years old in the fall of 1957 when my Dad brought home the twin to the station wagon in that picture...sure doesn't seem like 58 years ago.

Believe the future Corvette will be "Mid-Engine".

Chevy has been talking about a mid-engine Corvette since the 70s. After all these years, a V8 in the front seems emblematic of the Corvette brand, like a rear engine is for 911.

I would love to have that '58 wagon to haul Corvette parts!!!

I saw several of them at the Speedway Junk Yard north of the city when I lived in Denver -----

Back in the 80t's I owned a 4 door 58 - it was right hand drive, believed to have been shipped over to the UK in 1958 and used as a funeral mourners car. Am sure the car was made in Canada - talk about chase the rust ended up giving the car to a painter guy, who sprayed a C1 I had.
