    Unstamped Q-Jet

Responding to Joe L's post in the closed thread about scoring unoriginal parts-

WooHoo! Who knew I had a valuable Q-Jet. It was on the car when I acquired it in '90. A couple of years ago I found a correctly dated 7040205 on eBay for only a few hundred $.

I don't know why, but today 454 Quadrajets are among the most valuable carburetors I've seen... some on eBay are over $2,000!

But stamping a blank service bowl with a valuable number doesn't seem like a high integrity thing to do. So it will stay blank... sort of a novelty I guess.

    Re: Unstamped Q-Jet

    To clarify-

    - A complete service replacement Q-Jet would have a PN and date stamp
    - A service replacement fuel bowl would have no stamp.

    Is this correct?

I've looked at sold carburetors on ebay, and only one sold in the $900's--everything else for less. Just because someone asks a ridiculous price doesn't make them worth that. Are you seeing sold items that I have missed?

These are asking prices on eBay. But comparing asking prices or sold prices, it seems the BB Q-Jets are among the most expensive out there. The Ram-Air GTO/Firebird and 800 CFM Buick units are the only Q-Jets I've found that seem more expensive.
