    1963 heater capacitor location picture

I have a 1963 with an AM/FM radio. I have looked at the Assembly Manual but I am still not sure of how and where the heater capacitor is mounted. Could anyone please send a picture of an installed capacitor on the heater motor.

Early cars did not have a heater blower capacitor same on other 'hang on' items, not sure at what point capacitor was added. Others will chime in. What is the build date of your car?

Build date is 2nd week of May 1963 and I think all AM/FM cars had a capacitor on the heater blower.

The capacitor function only helps on the AM side of the radio as I understand it regardless of a car having AM/FM. Unsure when the capacitor was added to diminish heater blower noise.

It probably occurred at the time of the AM to AM-FM changeover, same as the added clip to the tach cable ground.

The switch was around VIN number 11700.

If you have an AIM look under the section on the AM FM radio and it will show all of the capacitors. The blower motor capcitor is attached to the wiring at the blower motor

Date coded Date coded 64B. Cant confirm if it's correct or not but may give you some ideas.
Seems to be missing the undercoating so likely the motor is a replacement.

Motor should have date embossed on flange.
