I think it's the King of Sweden's '56, later owned by a Swedish Corvette dealer, Lars Tidbloom (sp?)

Is it my over-active imagination or does that '57 in the background have a single trunk spear?

It is in fact the special '56 Corvette presented to Prince Bertil of Sweden on May 24th, 1956. Car had special design features Chevrolet Design was contemplating for future Corvette production.

I always thought only '58's had the two chrome spears? I guess it must have been a special design car.

Its a Guess----and the scoop on the front fender (so 56 or 57) could have been either --- but the thread was about an "apparent" '58 so hence the 57 guess------ but then again according to your post the subject car is a 56 anyway --- so much for that ----

I guess if you really wanted to get into the photo detail the subject car appears to have a single headlight (left fender) and if you look really closely you can make out one of the two hood ridges on the subject car --- making it a 56 as you posted---- I missed that until I looked again closely after the post you made ----

Yup. There are a couple more pictures of the car from the front in Winter '09 issue of The Restorer in an article about export Corvettes.
