    C2--lost keys---Code question

I just found a new project for myself ,but the owner lost the keys years ago. Tonight on the back of the POP book, I found what was written "Key"----with what looks like an I or a 1 with another letter & then two additional numbers after that. Basically a 4 character code.

Does 4 characters sound correct to you members ? I sure hope so---& I figure I would then take a trip to the old locksmith downtown tomorrow & have a key made.

    Thanks in advance.

Alright Mike ! The door panels have never been removed & are still MINT. I really didn't want to have to take it apart potentially scratching up the panel to get to the lock cylinder for the code. So in a word, thanks.

        Frederick,

For '67 you should have a primary key for doors and ignition and a secondary key for the glove box and spare tire lock. What is the letter in the 2nd position of the code you found?

                Re: C2--lost keys---Code question

Fred - For the 1967 GM Production year the "A" letter code keys had the following KEY NUMBER series:
                0V00 - 9V99 or
                0W00 - 9W99
& the "B" letter code keys had the KEY NUMBER series"
                0X00-9X99 or
                0Y00 - 9Y99.

                  Ralph,

I echo your recommendation for Pat Kraus, but after being in the lock business for decades he officially retired about 6 months ago and sold his business. He is still, however, doing some part-time rekeying work from home, although there are some lock parts he can no longer provide.

Pete did not say this in his post but he is our go-to guy for all things keys, locks, cylinders, wipers, and switches. He will cut the keys (using correct blanks) or re-key your lock cylinders as needed. Tim

There is nobody, in the history of earth, better than Pete Lindahl when it comes to keys. He also has lots of other groovy Corvette things. He is, also, an upstanding human being.

                            Keith,

All I can tell you is that he told me on January 11 that we was still doing re-keying.
