    "long distributor rotor"

Talked with someone knowledgeable about distributors and he said there is a problem with the now being marketed "long" distributor rotor . Edge of the part that sends fire to contacts in cap is radiused rather than having sharp edges. Electricity likes sharp edges, like spark plug outer electrode. Said this radius caused timing problems. Others say?

    Bill,

IMO, the correct rotor phasing on a stock distributor with this reproduction rotor will cause no issues. Actually the round corner may help from misfires.

I've used several. SB and BB, excellent rotors. Not any issues at all.

And the quality is so much better than the other replacements available.

I'm one of those happy uses! I would use anything but this rotor.

This reads like a thinly disguised marketing thread. What rotor are we talking about?

Not a marketing thread. It is an extended tip rotor that has been develop to old spec. Now being sold by various venders. There was an article in the Restorer about the extended tip rotor. You may can do a search and find more information.

Everybody on this forum should know by now that SOMEONE will find fault with any part, anytime, and for no apparent reason. And of course, we all know that GM only produced perfect parts, that never had any flaws, any variations, for any reason.

I was just asking after I was talking to someone about distributor issues. Glad to hear these experiences which you've given.
