    Various Spring Clamp ID

I would like to confirm the colors of the 5 different clamps that should be on my BB 71 Car.

9419381- Red These are on the smaller fuel line hose
3786275- Yellow These are on the hose from vapour canister to steel line to fuel tank
3786276- Green These are on the larger fuel line hose
3829058- Black These are on the power brake booster
9770783- ? This clamp is on the hose from the vapour canister to the PVC

    Thanks
    Sheldon

The first four are correct. I believe the 9770783 is red.

        Hi Sheldon,
If you're concerned about the proper clamps used at the vapor canister, pcv valve, and carburetor, you might also want to try to duplicate the hard yellowish resin that was used as a sealer at the pcv valve hose connections.
If you pursue that I'd be interested in hearing what material you use.
        Regards,

          Joe,
When I took the old hose off the vapour canister there was a red clamp on it but got confused when the part numbers did not line up with the other clamps from the fuel line. Would it be a slightly different size. I thought the color was to help identify easily which ones to use.

Alan, I didn,t know anything about the yellow resin, could you expand a bit on what you know about that. I assume it was used as some sort of sealer between hose and fitting. Was it used only at the PCV valve or also at the other ends of the hose.

The color is an aid to quick identification. However, some of the colors are used for more than one clamp size. It does seem a bit strange but that's how it was. The 9770783 was used for a hose size of 0.48" to 0.54".

Joe, I measured the old hose and it is about .49, maybe was .50 when new so that fits with what you said. Do you have measurements of the hose for the other clamps, just nice to have for the future.

                Hi Sheldon,
                Perhaps something like this?
It's a poor photo to judge the color of the material by but it sure appears there's some sealer of some sort there.
                Regards,

I don't have specs on the 9419381. However, I strongly suspect it's the same as the 9770783. In fact, that's why I suspect they're both the same color. There may be some minor configurational difference between the two part numbers, though.

Alan, does the hose that says eval on it go down to the vapour canister or is it going to carb? The hose on the left side of the PVC looks to be smaller than the other two. I am just trying to get mine back to the way it should be, someone had changed it along the way.

It is smaller. The original "tee" has different size nipples on either side.
