Neither is correct for an L-88. In fact, I doubt that either are even applicable to a big block.

L-88's used a Unitac type pump (i.e. crimped lower case).

1969 L-88 originally used an AC type 40718. However, a 40482 should work perfectly.

Joe is absolutely correct, neither pump will work. You need a 40718 pump.

Thanks both Joe and Steve, so the question is now does pt# 40170/6415748 that is covered by ''Chevrolet Power'' mean service part for an over the counter ''High Capacity'' fuel pump for racing ie H/D? as I accept the common one shown in most corvette outlets is very different. There is 2 currently or was on ebay under L88 1st design bottom one and 2nd design top, maybe racing use only, BUT hey guys thanks I'm going to have a beer to clear my headache.
