Re: 63 _ Engine dies at idle after warm up
Well, your vent arrangement is backwards from stock, at least as far as flow through the oil separator under the manifold. It should still work but I wonder. Do you notice any oil getting pulled into the PCV valve when it when the engine warms and dies? How about trying this the GM way: air cleaner to oil fill tube with one solid hose. Carb PCV port connected to PCV valve which then connects to rear vent by the distributor.
Of course you are using the full vacuum port for your distributor vac advance and have plugged both the timed port and the power brake port in the rear of the carb. Stock AFB uses that rear port to mount PCV but Edelbrock may have internal differences. Never played with one of those.
If your setup runs well with PCV port wide open to atmosphere, sounds like your base calibration is wildly rich to sustain that big a vacuum leak.
