      Gary,
Since its sitting I put masking tape on the rotors to keep them from getting that annoying surface rust, hate to see that rust on new rotors.

        Brian,

I wish I had done the tape thing to my new rotors before I stored them in my garage.

I've been a professional autobody tech/ painter for 30 years and no flat black paint looks like black phosphate. Like I said before the phosphate seams very fragile and not too rust resistant, I'm happy with the flat clear I used, I tried it on the back side first to see if any change to the finish would happen all it did was even it out.
Guys phosphate finish is available in a home brew that is just simple. The part is submerged in a solution with water in a heated tub. Parts are real phosphate and have the same limited corrosion protection. Clear paint, flat or otherwise is visible as not typical factory. Judges are smart to the tricks of coating parts that have anything other than bare metal or non electroplated finish added.

Jeff, I purchased the brackets, their made by Merrick and so are the auto dollies I use. You have to be careful as Merrick make several different size dollies and the brackets only fit one size.
