Was going to have a look at this car, but having some second thoughts. These are pics from when it was up for auction and sold in September 15 http://www.auctionsamerica.com/event...ing=&category=

Up for auction again this weekend. My concern are the pics of the vin and trim plate. Could this be evidence of "bird cage" problems? Still learning. Also concerned that it is back for auction again so quick.

Any thoughts.

After a very quick glance, I see nothing wrong with either tag. But, I see surface corrosion on Zbar between the tags. Could be a clue of more corrosion in hidden places but not necessarily. The paint was ground off the bar to allow for spot welding the VIN tag. This area would certainly grow surface corrosion over the last 53 years in any kind of damp air environment. That does not automatically mean that there are other birdcage problems, but there certainly could be on a 63 coupe. A close inspection would be worthwhile.

Agree with Don - think over-priced especially since it has Vintage air added

Nothing wrong with the tags they show BUT it has a 64 dash cluster in it with the black stripped off.

Closer inspection should be undertaken!

First, the link didn't get me to any other photographs, but that's probably my POS HP computer or operator error. But I wanted to go back to square 1 and suggest consideration of Auction Rule 1: Sometimes auctioneers lie about whether or not a car is sold, among other things. That should be your new starting point.
