Judging / scoring question, to settle a bet

After looking through the search results.....

Can a Corvette receive a Top Flight, or Second, or Third, that is painted the wrong color according to the trim tag? It is a correct color for that year, just not that particular Corvette.

Color is 85 points. Top flight is 94% of 4500 points or you can loose 270 points and get a Top Flight.

But if the color is wrong, then isn't everything under "paint" hit with the loss of points, i.e. condition, factory appearance, etc?

        Nope, that's double dipping.

Paint color deals only with color that's why there is no condition points attached.

            Ok
I lost the bet. I was sure that the wrong color was a full deduct.

            Thanks

Oh, and Harry, in Chicago, triple and quadruple dipping is the norm.
Sort of like vote early and vote often on election day.
