What Fan Belt Manufacturer has a Crown as its Symbol?

    Hi all,

I have a n NOS GM 3737976 fan belt with a crown on it for a manufacturer symbol. Anyone know what company used a crown as its symbol?

    Thanks,

    Bob

Uniroyal. They also used a circle with a dot in the middle.

Wasn't it Standard Oil that had a crown as a symbol? Didn't they have a large red and white crown over a foot in diameter on the top of each old style gas pump.....Aren't they valued collector items now? Or does my memory deceive me....

        Brad-------

I don't think that Standard Oil ever manufactured any V-belts. Standard and Chevron gas stations used to carry a brand of automotive service products called "Atlas" and I believe this was a brand owned by Standard Oil. However, I don't think that Atlas ever actually manufactured any V-belts.

In any event, the V-belt pictured has a GM part number on it. No other manufacturer could use that number unless it was manufacturing the belt for GM. Even if that manufacturer's V-belts were distributed under other brand names, they could not use the GM part number on those belts.
