What New A C Delco Battery Closest Match for 1971

Ordered a battery for Restoration battery 7 weeks ago and they still can't fill the order due to case production problems. Need to buy a new AC Delco for judging this week. Bought the caps & hoses. Which new AC Delco is closest to the original one? Thanks

Paul, I am thinking the group 75 battery is what you need, which should mount and is a side terminal battery. The cap and vent hoses will not mount, it is a standard deduct for the battery which is 50% for the current Delco.

Another member in a thread recommended the 78-6yr battery???? I don't have any idea what an original battery looked like! Does anyone know the measurements on an original 1971 AC Delco battery??

Group 78 is a larger battery, and it is has more cranking Amps. and will likely be a tighter fit in box, It is your choice.
