    1975 radio

looking at getting the radio up and working, lots of static works every now and then,
trying to find the best choice of repair places to have it repaired, any recommendations?

Call or e mail Jerry Rudbeck at Electro Design. Website; http://www.electrodesign.us/. He overhauled / restored my C2 am/fm. Excellent service and fair prices. If you do a search of this forum for radio repair I think you will find a lot of other members have recommended him. There is a reason - he's good.

Without a doubt. Jerry is the best source.

Agreed that Jerry is the best (he restored my 69 AM/FM Stereo), but unfortunately, he's retired. At least semi-retired, and no longer accepting new orders. But give him a call anyway and see what he says.

Is this Butch Malone from TX? If so how is that 75 doing?
I did the radio upgrade about 7 years ago and had mixed results. I probably would have been better served to have Jerry rebuild my 72's radio but I was told the upgrades were great. Well the radio upgrade works ok but the problem I still have is the original on/off volume pot is bad. I asked about it here last year and believe those pots are no longer available. What happens with mine is the radio will work but if I turn the volume too fast, really just normal, it goes dead. I then have to play with it by turning it on/off until I catch a sweet spot and it's fine- until I touch the volume again.

              Hey Butch
Good to hear from you again. Well if you find one of those radio pots let me know I could use one too.
