Re: Bowling Green
We returned last night from our trip that included a stop this past Monday to tour the plant and visit the museum. Interestingly enough, a Corvette club from Tulsa, OK - the Vette Set, stayed Sunday night in the same hotel we did (a group of approx. 20) and we happened to be a part of the same 9:00 AM tour as them.
The assembly process was absolutely incredible. The parts movement inside the plant, which arranged for the needed parts to be at the individual assembly stations, at the time when needed, and correct for the options on the car being built, is beyond impressive. I can't conceive of the planning that went into the design and layout of the plant that makes it function as it does.
Equally impressive were the museum exhibits of cars, both whole and crushed. We saw eight cars staged for museum delivery.
