To add to what Joe said, for '66 the frame stencil was painted using a roller in white paint and it will appear on the outboard side of the frame on the passenger side about in line with the middle to the rear end of the passenger's door. Even if the stencil is present it's hard to see without removing the rocker panel. On a side pipe car it's much harder to see. During judging, the stencil is judged by the chassis team. It's included in the "Frame & Numbers" line item, worth 15 points for originality and 15 points for condition. Of course a lot of those points would be assigned to the frame itself. Quanta sells frame stencil kits that includes the stencil and white paint. The info on the stencil changed throughout the '66 model year. Quanta has their own stencil database so they are supposed to know what info is correct based on your build date. Of course, as more research is done the Quanta database (and mine) are periodically improved and in some cases the stencil Quanta now sells for a specific car might be different from what they sold years ago. That's what I went thru with my '66. The stencil I purchased in 2002 was updated by 2012. It's largely a moot point because the stencil is so difficult to read up in the narrow space between the frame and the rocker panel that judges typically just look to see if there is anything up there at all that looks like stenciled numbers and the content is not judged in detail. At least that's the case when I've judged.
