C3 Door panel repair? (mounting clip slot)

Well, I did it again. Seems whenever I take a door panel off, I ruin it! This time I was fixing my 69 driver side door latch (really hard to push) and when I removed the door panel, I forgot about the front clip and tore the cardboard mounting slot for that clip (see attached). The rear one's not in great shape either (holding on by a thread), so does anyone have a good fix for this? (Other than buying new panels of course!)

I was thinking some kind of two part epoxy, but I'm not sure how well that will hold to cardboard.

Any ideas are welcome...
