oil filter cartridge center bolt removel

Hi fellows, do any of you know how to take the center bolt out of the case. I see it has a clip holding it in the case but I don't know how to remove the clip without damaging it. Any help is appreciated . Thanks Jeff

I believe the clip is either destroyed or damaged during disassembly. During re-assembly, you replace with a new clip. LICS and perhaps others sell rebuild kits which include a new clip. Others with machining capability, machine a small groove into the center bolt at this point and then use a replaceable/removable c-clip (snap-ring) to hold things together.
