I am sure some members, perhaps many have experienced what I am going to describe here - all I can say is, thanks to NCRS members there really is hope for mankind.

I was in need of a small but very - very - difficult to find part for my '64 Corvette. It was one of those parts that are right there in front of you and it doesn't work, it is among the very first thing every judge checks, has been out of production for decades, and repro's are obviously repro's and just don't cut it.

In response to an inquiry I made, an NCRS member that I have never met or spoken to contacted me, stated that he had several NOS units and I was welcome to one - just provide my mailing address. I declined his generous offer and insisted on paying (a modest price) for the unit. The member graciously accepted my offer. The part arrived today - in perfect condition with all the correct markings. You can't beat that! This is one great organization and it is the members that make it so. Thank you -- I look forward to an opportunity to return the favor for an NCRS member in need.

I had a similar experience just last week ---- (This guy has consistently stepped up to help --- he know who he is!!!)

Just goes to show there are still a lot of good folks out there !!!!

My "guardian angel" happens to be a long time NCRS member and certified Judge, Ara Gechijian, # 48542 (name provide with permission). Never met the gentleman but as they used to say at the end of each Lone Ranger episode, "I'd sure like to thank him".

I recently asked for help for a new, young member that needed a 1969 dash pad for his car. A long term Wisconsin member saw to it that he got a correct dash pad at a reasonable price for his car. I won't mention him by name, but his help is greatly appreciated.

I have to echo all the comments from my short experience. Tim responded to my first " I don't know what I don't know " post and has introduced me to a class group of people. All my other interactions with members on the forum have been above expectations. In the world of a lot of people out for themselves this is a great group.

Ed, Happy to help. When I joined this organization I was young and wet behind the ears. Some heavily experienced guys took me under their wings and took the time to teach me, show me, explain things to me - BUT most importantly conveyed to me what exactly the organization is all about and what it's mission is. That was invaluable. People often lose sight of what we are as a group. Things are tense when our cars are getting judged, etc....but to step back and realize that we are all about the Cars and friends and we embrace the term "OCD" as a compliment is important to do. Through this organizations evolution, we need to grow, adapt, plan, be forward-thinking while NOT losing sight of what this organization was founded upon. The guys and gals in this organization are the greatest. Heck, half the bridal party at my wedding were NCRS members.....Happy Friday to ALL.....ARA

Hi Ed, me and you share the same story... I meet Ara on line through the NCRS about 4 years ago.. He has helped me immensely and I owe all my top flights to his generosity and hours of telephone and email conversation... Thanks Ara I hope we meet one day ... Cheers Pal
