    Sticky concerning NCRS office +

Yesterday I read a Sticky post from Mike Ingham about what was going on concerning the relocation of the Cinci NCRS Office and some other information.
I wanted to review it and now it's gone.
    What happened to it?

Yesterday, Tuesday April 5, Mike Ingham sent out an email covering the progress and assignments of responsibilities associated with the changes in Cincinnati. If you did not receive Mike's email, make sure your NCRS membership info has your current email address. Perhaps it will be posted to the TDB as well.

After time, I believe a STICKY is eventually sent back into the regular TDB order... sometimes a 'search' helps. In this case, I still see it as a STICKY, but you can also use this link: CLICK HERE

Re: Stiky cncerning NCRS office +

I believe the post that Bruce was speaking about the posting below. I sure don't see anything objectionable or any reason it has been taken down. Several of our Cincinnati members are concerned about what has happen, we hate to see our NCRS originator leaving the club.

          Dear NCRS Member,

It is not quite three weeks since the NCRS Board of Directors learned of Eric Mortimer’s resignation as an NCRS employee, and the resultant closing of the NCRS Cincinnati office. As previously communicated, the Board spent much of its annual meeting putting together a plan to handle the various responsibilities formerly handled in Cincinnati. In the next few paragraphs I will update you on where things stand.

Vinnie Peters, currently Editor of the Restorer magazine, agreed to take charge of editing the Driveline magazine on an interim basis. Vinnie dove head first into this task and over the course of two weeks he has completely recreated the Driveline such that the May/June issue is ready to go to press. Next time you see Vinnie, please thank him for his over the top efforts.

Vinnie set up a new email address specifically for Driveline-related input: NCRSDriveline@ncrs.org and he can also be reached by phone at (631) 730-6436 (eastern time, business hours).

Marilyn Heitzman agreed to take on two key tasks: processing registrations for the 2016 Convention in Warwick; and handling membership issues, both new members and renewals. Marilyn has set up a new phone number at which she can be reached as follows: (419) 862-0315 (eastern time, business hours); and our IT folks have set things up such that inquires sent to the info@ncrs.org email address are automatically routed to Marilyn.

Marilyn is already processing online registrations for Warwick, but the bigger concern is registrations that were filled out by hand and mailed to the Cincinnati office. It is our belief that few if any of those mail-in registrations were processed by Eric. We put out a request asking anyone who mailed in their registration to Cincinnati who has not received confirmation of their registration to resend those registrations directly to Marilyn. If you wrote a check to accompany your registration please cancel that check and write a new check to accompany the registration you send to Marilyn. Marilyn’s home address is:

15769 W Portage River South Road
          Elmore, OH 43416-9711

Paul Oslansky, Region II Director, agreed to take charge of handling NCRS merchandise sales on an interim basis. Any of you who may have checked the NCRS website will have noted that we have temporarily shut down the store. At the moment, all of the NCRS store items are still at the Mortimers’ Cincinnati property. As soon as we can arrange with the Mortimers to retrieve all of the store items and inventory them, we will reopen the store.

In the meantime, Paul has identified a suitable climate-controlled storage facility in the Cincinnati area that will serve as the temporary location for the store contents. Paul has set up a new phone number at which he can be reached as follows: (513) 965-0034 (eastern time, business hours). Our IT folks have set up the following email address for Paul: shopkeeper@ncrs.org

Paul has also visited with the two printing companies in the Cincinnati area that have handled the printing of our manuals, and the printing of the various supplies needed to run Chapter and Regional judging meets. Paul has arranged for adequate supplies of the various forms and certificates needed for Chapter and Regional meets to be printed and sent to Dave Brigham. Chapters needing judging meet supplies should contact Dave with their needs.

Paul has also arranged for a print run of the three newest judging manuals: 1965, 1967, and 1997-1999. It appears that few if any Chapters received their complimentary copies of these manuals so Dave will be taking care of that once these manuals are available. You can reach Dave either by email at dwbrigham@gmail.com or by phone at (781) 237-3456 (eastern time, business hours).

As we continue to make progress and refine our plans I will send out further updates. The Board believes that the changes we are making will result in a considerable reduction in operating expenses going forward.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

          Best regards,

          Mike Ingham
          NCRS President

Being that this board can be read by non-members, is it appropriate to post people's phone numbers and home addresses without their permission?

yeah, but that email didn't go to people outside the NCRS I assume.

Re: Stiky cncerning NCRS office +

John Tidwell has been pretty up front in providing information and I want to thank him for that.

Possibly someone other the John can answer the following which I posted on the "other" Forum.

"The best source of accurate information is NCRS.
That information has not been provided by them.
No "financial audit", no "total disclosure" of spending and so on.

I was recently informed that the NCRS Board of Directors bought a piece of artwork for $30,000.00.
A simple answer from the BOD can easily clarify that rumor.

                    Anyone?????"

I would have been willing to bet that's what the purchase was - something historic, noteworthy and Corvette-related. Sounds like a great acquisition. I'm sure we will all see it featured in a club publication soon.

In response to your question about the Board purchasing "a piece of artwork” for $30,000, the Board at its March 18, 2016, general meeting made the decision to acquire what General Motors confirms are the earliest known styling drawings of the 1953 Corvette, dated 1952, to become part of the NCRS Archive. The drawings will be shared with the GM Heritage Center. The Board’s discussion and decision will be covered more fully in the minutes of the Board meeting when they are available.
