    1998 Courtesy Key Wallet Card

According to the NCRS Judging Manual my 1998 Pace Car came from the dealer with a Courtesy Key Wallet Card. Anyone know where I can purchase one of these? It would be great if it would include my vin number and key code but I can probably handle getting that done along with getting the key cut if I could find a blank one.

    Pete,

I have no answer for you, but my posting this reply will get your posting moved back to the top of the list. Surely someone can provide an answer for you. Where are those '98 Pace Car owners???

PM Tom Hendricks (23758) he's the corvette specialist at Bud's Chevrolet. He should be able to help you out.

I would doubt that they are available now. On my 95 you received this from Chevrolet after you took delivery of your car. It was part of the PR on the Roadside Assistance 36 month program. 95keyfolderft0178.jpg95keybk0177.jpg

I agree with Ken as this item was received from Chevrolet after the Owner took Delivery and after Dealer Prep. It should not be a judged item. It is called a courtesy key and does have the VIN stamped on it. I can only speak for the later C4's as the earlier C4's had a black plastic key that came with the Corvette and was called an Emergency Key. The later C4's had the Roadside Assistance Decal placed on the Driver window. Also the Owner received after delivery a set of Roadside Assistance Cards. Earlier C4's had a Roadside Assistance Brochure with the owner's packet.
Maybe some C5 owners can help out with this issue.

As a follow up to my previous post, all the circumstances concerning the Courtesy Key, Roadside Assistance Decal and the Roadside Assistance Cards have been discussed with the National Team Leader for the 1990-96 Judging Class. Documentation has been furnished to him for corrections in the next revised issue of the 94-96 Judging Manual. Would be happy to provide anyone that is interested with copies of that documentation.

I'll bounce this off my son this afternoon as he owns one of the original Indy 98's (no. 1 in fact) and has gathered a lot of the misc. stuff that goes with it.

During that era I bought a new GM car and it was mailed after delivery. It does show it in the new J & R manual. My 99 will be judged at the No. Cal. chapter meet next weekend. I will ask Allen how this will be treated.

What did you find out from your son Stuart?

BTW...if you son has the first 98 Pace Car I could use some assistance on another post that I placed yesterday regarding the seat belt tags. For some reason these tags were removed from my 98 Pace Car before I purchased it. I need a picture of the tag so I can attempt to replace it. I could also use a source from replacement tags if you have one. Thanks.
