66 BB AC car fan 3 speed cuts out

Help needed when I put the fan on (works fine low and medium speed) high / 3rd speed the relay trips out - any pointers would be good very frustrated

Keith, when high speed is selected with the switch its a direct wire from switch to the high blower relay, and the relay is fused, I don't have a diagram for 66, but I am thinking a orange wire. When you say relay trips out, is it blowing the fuse? if so trace the orange wire(or fused wire) for short to ground.

Thanks Edward , you're right it was the orange wire (there's also a spare orange wire that loops back near the top were the wiper motor goes but that must be for non AC cars) - no it didn't blow the fuse just made a click within the relay box.
Now sorted running on 3 speed, blower.
