72 Headlight Canister Nuts

I'm restoring the headlight vacuum canisters on my 72 and I'm trying to find out what the correct finish is on the four nuts that attach the canisters to their mounting brackets. Mine were so badly rusted that I can't determine if they were originally natural, zinc plated, black, or something else.

The GM #1359887 nuts were originally phosphate finished.
