    Preserving carburetor zinc/chromate finish

A post on the forum at CliffsHighPerformance.com (a shop that specializes in Q-Jets) suggested spraying a satin clear coat on the carburetor to help protect and prolong its finish. One brand is VHT SP115 FlameProof Satin Clear.

    Has anyone tried this?

Other tips for preserving a carburetor's finish?

HI Mark, my experience is anything you coat with a clear goes yellow eventually... My carb was rebuilt and once a year I just polish it with some light solution before a judging event...
