    C2 window regulators

Just received a repro main non-PW window regulator & the spring is oriented opposite from my original. In other words, the spring assist is on the DOWN cycle while my original provided assist on the UP ! The repro spring tab is against the top side of the retainer
while the original is retained on the bottom . Before I send this back, which is correct?
    Thanks!

Could it be that the regulators are "left" and "right" and you are looking at the opposite side???? The assist should be on the "UP" direction. If the spring is indeed not correct for your application you can reverse the spring orientation. I've replaced my springs... no big deal.

I've got the correct ( left) side...it's even marked "LH" on the gear. You've confirmed what I thought... assist is in the "UP" . THANKS

Just pull the spring out and flip it over

Isn't the spring tap supposed to be on the top ? I just happened to have these out and ready from a different post I started

Is the Power Window different? Maby I'm confused, but, it seems logical that the spring assist needs to be on the UP cycle ?

              Ralph,

I just noticed the word "non" in front of your P/W widow regulator. That may indeed be the difference . Unfortunately, I can't answer that .

If they are in fact different than non power window regulators , I am sorry for adding to the confusion .

Jim, I believe you are correct in that there must be a different spring orientation for power windows. I see in the 67 Chassis Service Manual
( 1B-19 ) a picture that clearly shows the spring installed on the bottom tang for a manual regulator. If so, anyone buying a repro manual regulator should be aware that the spring may come reversed.
