63 SWC Interior Question...

My wife and I are visiting family in Florida and while here was planning a trip to Ecklers for a few small items. I don't have my reference manual so I thought it best to ask.

Interior door knobs mine are currently chrome but from what I've been able to decifer they should be black for an early build car (Nov 62)?

Door pinch welts I don't recall seeing any type of chrome cap but Ecklers is showing a cap on both sides which are mounted with two screws any thoughts?

both door pull knobs and shifter knob should be black plastic, not chrome. pinch-welt caps are also needed.they will be stainless for a roadster, and painted interior color for a coupe. mike

Mike i really hate to question the pinch welt caps..coupes were chrome with one screw hole or two depending on build date. Right ? Appolozies in advance ...peter ...

Thx so much for the quick replies. Mike would you be able to tell me if the welt caps would be a two hole for a Nov 62 build or one hole. The only ones that I've seen are two hole...

I believe the 2-hole stainless pinch welt cap would be TFP for a coupe built November 62. The 1-hole stainless would have been later in production (May 63?). All 64 through 67 coups pinch welt caps would have been metal that was color matched to the interior with a centerline break for body color.

My May 29th '63 coupe has the two hole pinch weld caps.
To the OP: Eckler's moved their location from years past....make sure you have the right address....they are in the boonies.
When you think you are lost and there is nothing but woods in sight and you are thinking of turning around -- don't; you're within a 1/2 mile or so...

my 63 coupe mid nov. has 2 holes.not sure if they are S.S. or plated,as I did not check on that.

My June 7th car is 2 hole and stainless steel. I don't recall ever seeing a one hole but that doesn't mean they aren't there.
