1953 Parts and Acessories Catalog Corvette supplement

Sometime in the past I located the very first Corvette parts catalog on the internet. Can't locate it again.

Can anyone direct me to that document? If you happen to have a copy in your possession I'd like to know what part number is listed for the generator pulley.

    Troy, gmpartswiki ?

It lists your pulley here using the Search button. The first book that shows it is the 1957 P&A.

1927518 Pulley without fan. Fan is 1866400.

The Aug '53 Pts bk confirms Richard's #s.

Thanks Loren. When sleepy California awakes Joe will probably confirm too.

I have the Corvette only P&As issued in mid 54 and the next edition in mid 55. I know they both call for the 518 pulley as do several later P&As that combined Corvette parts with parts from all other Chevy vehicles.

The Judging Guide shows a photo of a 1925515 pulley. Delco says that part number was superseded by the 1927518 and general parts books of the era shows the 515 as being for passenger and commercial applications with "special equipment".

I'm trying to find the 1953 Corvette P&A to see if maybe the 515 was listed in 53 only. As I recall there was no separate P&A for Corvettes, as there was in 54 and 55. It was labeled as a supplement to the more general current P&A.

The GM #1927518 did not replace the GM #1925515 until June, 1960. However, the 1927518 existed and was in use LONG before 1960.

I do not have a 1953-only edition of the Corvette supplement so I can't say, for sure, the 1927518 was cataloged for 1953 Corvette applications at that time.

As stated in post 3, the ONLY pulley # stated in Gr 2.274 in the August 1953 parts book is the # quoted by Richard. Clear?

I don't have that book. Is it listed for Corvette or Passenger and Commercial?

Is there a 515 listed for some other application?

It is called the Corvette Parts Book, August 1953. There are TWO entries in that group, one for the pulley and one for the fan, with the #s stated by Richard in his first response in answer to the question. I'm sorry if you are personally fulfilled by the answer.

Wonderful! That's the book I was looking for. The very first record of Corvette parts.

I'd like to get a copy for future use. Do you have one or can it be found on the internet somewhere?

I discovered it on the net years ago while doing research for a Corvette Restorer article I was writing. But when I searched very recently to answer this pulley question I couldn't find it.

My June 1954 Corvette Pts Bk simply repeats the August 1953 listing, only 2 entries.
My July 1955 repeats #1927518 as the pulley for NOW 53/55, but adds (exc V-8), and ADDS 37112554 as the V8 pulley; for the fan it repeats the 54 listing but adds 55 and (exc V-8); there is NO listing for the V8 fan in this group - one piece Assembly?

The GM #3712554 was, indeed, a pulley + fan assembly.

I was hoping to acquire or view the August 53 publication you referenced for future research. Do you have one you could copy for me or direct me to a website where it can be found? I suspect our parts reference guru, Joe, would like one as well to complete his library.

You can buy a reproduction of the 53-55 version from the NCRS store.

                              I'm not looking for a 53-55 version.

I'm looking for the August 1953 Corvette parts book Loren says he consulted. I have the Corvette P&A issued in 54 and the 55 edition as well. I'm missing the 53 edition.
