Should the intake manifold hold down bolt heads painted silver or a natural non painted finish?

I believe the manifold bolts were originally zinc (or cadmium) plated.

Late 1964 through 1967 used bushing GM #3854399. This bushing was never available in SERVICE and I don't know anything about it. Perhaps it was configured like the GM #6257135.

Yes Joe is correct, but when they painted the thermostat housing with that dull aluminum/silver paint, it hit a few of those AP bolts on this one.

When I reassembled the intake after cleaning, I carefully cleaned all of the bolts and replaced them where they were removed in each location. The ones with the telltale silver paint went back to the left front which also had the accelerator spring bracket, which also had some silver paint on top and even some orange underneath. And the spring had silver on it too, and black underneath.
