    C3 dual exhaust leak

The exhaust joint that is clamped to the u shaped hanger attached to the Trans and crossmember is leaking at the top.
i have adjusted and wiggled and I can't get a tight seal. Any suggestions?

You must get it adjusted so there is no "gap" anywhere in the 360 degrees of the rear pipe slip joint. If there is a "gap", there will be a leak.

Use a high temp sealant before putting it together.

Agreed. You can - and should - use sealer here. It's readily available at any auto parts store.
If you look in the AIM, the factory used it too.

Thanks for the responses. But I have torqued down on the clamp to the point that pulling the joint apart proves futile. Can I heat the otter pipe and expand it so I can slip it apart? As the pipe passes through the the frame right there it is hard to work the joint free.
am I hosed and should just cut the mid pipe off ant start over?

I've thought that before, yet gotten it apart.
They do make tools that will help force apart the exhaust. IIRC you can rent/borrow them at AutoZone and similar places.
