64 Fuelie Coupe Question

A friend of mine owns coupe vin 40837S121567. All numbers match but the block. The block is four digits off.

Block is 4121563. FO. 624RF. The block is four digits behind the vin. Could there have been a stamping error? Thank you in advance. Jeff.
I wonder what block number car 21563 has.

Anything is possible I'm sure there were mistakes. There is really no way to prove if the block was original to the car. If your concern is the judging the judges would probably deduct for it if they notice. I know someone who found a block very close to his original in serial number and had the car judged and it was not detected during the judging.

I'm betting 21563 was destroyed, and some grabbed the engine somewhere along the way for 21567 because it was so close.

Check the transmission stamped vin. If it matches the car number, you then know a switch occurred. If it matches the engine then you don't know if both were replaced, or if there was an error.
