    65 dewitts 941 install / flush question

Hey fella's, I'm in the middle of replacing the radiator on a 65 300/ 327 A/C car with a Dewitt's 941 as well as the water pump with one of Mr. Mock's pumps and I was hoping I could get some suggestions on the best way to clear out as much of the old anti-freeze as possible. I bought 2 gallons of full strength Zerex G-05 and 2 gallons of distilled water to fill it once the system is put back together. Any help would be appreciated.

As you're removing the the radiator and waterpump, a lot of the engine's coolant will go with them. If you remove the block drain plugs, you'll get virtually all of the remaining coolant.

Something else you could do if you wish to FLUSH the cooling system:

First, drain the radiator and block by removing block plugs. Dispose of drained coolant PROPERLY.

PRIOR to removing the radiator and waterpump, buy a Prestone Flush& Fill kit. Install it in one of the heater hoses. Then, follow the instructions for flushing the cooling system.

Finally, remove radiator, waterpump, and block plugs. Drain any remaining water from the system.
