'67 Coupe

I'm trying to install my new windshield with new rubber gasket on my '67 coupe.
I was not successful last Saturday using the rope trick.
My question is, should I try to install the bottom gasket into the metal bird cage lip first (which I did) or
should I try to position the glass with rubber gasket installed evenly into the opening (between the trim clips) and then try pulling the rope with someone outside "gently" pushing the glass?

Works best wit two guys. The string idea works fine. Have some of the plastic spoons for this job on hand for guiding the rubber over the glass. Some pressure helps too much makes the rubber fight you.

Put a little liquid dish washing soap on the rubber , it will help it go over yhe metal easier

is the size of the window correct? Unfortunately the quality control on these windshields are not good almost all are produced in Mexico now and size is not consistent. I recently bought from one and it was too large. in some areas as much as 1/4". Pilkington took care of it even though they were out of stock. they bought one from another distributor. I don't think Pilkington manufactures anything now.

so if its too big no amount of soap will help
