At some point during the 63 model GM started reinforcing the outer heater box at the hose outlet area. Does anyone know about when this started?? Thanks, Ed

I thought I would put this post to the top, was hoping some of you early 63 would go out to garage and take a peek at what your Corvette has for the outer heater box, Thanks, EdNew England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 63 Outer heater box Question
Ed, April 20th car 133XX has no support.
I do have a spare, the ink stamp inside the box is April 1_ 63. Could be the 1st or 11th - 19th. This one does have the support. I do not know the VIN it came from. I didn't look at the A/C car.
I would make the assumption the change started sometime in late April or whenever old stock was depleted.

Re: 63 Outer heater box Question
Guys, thanks for the replys. I Just today cleaned up the original heater cover and found a date (Feb.7, ) on the inside of the housing, Which has a the reinforcement at heater tube outlet, So I guess my March car is considered a mid/ late production, As is Richards car.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
