Re: How many are "active" on the technical discussion?

Now this is interesting - I just checked (4:22PM) and there are '62 users browsing this forum. (37 members & 25 guests)'.

Sure a lot of guest folks looking. Are the guests counted as 'active' users.

Re: How many are "active" on the technical discussion?

I have a question about being "logged in" or "users browsing this forum". I visit this tech discussion several times a day. I have my user name & password memorized in by browser and the tech discussion saved as a bookmark so when I want to peek at what is going in I just click on the link and it opens to the tech discussion and I am logged in when the page opens - my name and member number (Ed Szeliga 60294) is listed among the bunch of current users. My question is, when I close my browser or close the tech discussion webpage and go to another website am I continuously counted as a logged in member or does my name & member number drop off the list.

Ed, I think when you close your browser, you're no longer logged in.
Also, the little dot next to your member number will be green, when logged in.
you can see the members here in this thread where there dot is not green, you will not see their names listed as being online on the home page.
            regards

Roy, I suspected that was the case but of course it is impossible to see if one is logged on when a browser is closed. Regarding the green dot you mentioned. Not sure what you mean - I don't (ever) see a "green dot", I have seen a green circle with either a check mark in it or a green circle with an arrow in it - both in the list of threads - is that what you are referring to?

I use my Apple IPad most of the time to view the different forums I belong to.
i was referring to the little green dot that would be next to my name and member number in parentheses in each of my posts, as long as I'm logged in. You should be able to see yours.

So how did we do? Did we get enough members to make the Guinness book? The best # I saw was 54 members at any one time. I guess many couldn't tear themselves away from the Oscar Awards.

I know I have not been active for several months due to other alligators in the pond that were biting harder, but I back now.

I suspect there are many like me that often do not sign on, but review the subjects almost daily to determine interest first. I doubt that these members who access like this would be in any data base.
