How many are "active" on the technical discussion?

I have heard numerous times that there about 300 of us. Yet I'm seeing additional names and numbers on a regular basis, as well as many regular and familiar names. How is "active" defined? How many different members have accessed ths board since January 1? Someone probably knows how to determine this better than I do.

The data are bound to be offered by the standard tools used by ncrs.org for this discussion board.

It probably depends on what is defined as regular basis! Is it posts at least once a year? Once a month? Must post at minimum three times a year?

At once a month, that is twelve times a year. But then, does the poster continue and post twelve times how many years in a row?

What about those who stalk the TDB but abstain from posting...do they count?

There's not a lot of user stats available. Numbers have been fairly constant the last 5 years even though different members are logging in and posting.

I log on to this site a couple of times a week, but rarely comment. Most of the technical items are outside of my skill set to offer meaningful suggestions.

That being said, I love this site.

"Hits" might also be an interesting figure.

Is used to be a regular many years ago and then archived the project as the kids were growing. When I came back, all my post count and status was gone. So the system must reset at some point.

There has to be more than 300. As there are just so many new posts and reply everyday. Most are the same guys, but every so often there are some newer members that become quite active. Many are more active on this board than they are on the judging field.

I'm responding to two inquiries:
- Mike, no. Count of "unique" member visits are on a per day basis.

- Eric, posts made since the 2008 conversion to the vBulletin software and member name and NCRS # login required are in the Discussion Board database Technical Forum and have never been deleted, unless they it was a post that violated the NCRS use policy. Posts made prior to the software conversion were matched to the member's email where they could be. If the member's email had changed, then John was unable to match those posts to the member's login Username. Those posts prior to the software conversion are located in the Archive Forum.

Thanks Gary, I wondered how that worked. When I looked back at my prior posts and did not see any I figured that I had been gone too long. Now being back and picking up where I left off I will have to see if I can find a few by subject. After almost 20 years of being an NCRS member I sure hope I can remain active and someday have my car on the field instead of the garage. Eric
