    1963 Tie rod tube clamp

Kit I got has crimp nuts and lock washers, should I use washers? Seems like crimp nut would be used without washers. JG or assembly manual do not address this. Thanks in advance

    Jerry,

The original 63 tie rod clamp uses a lock washer and regular nut. I don't thing crimp nuts started until 66.

Jerry, I think Tim is correct, I have a original sleeves with the correct bolts and nuts it has the lock washer on the head of the bolt, not at the nut like you would normally think. I think the repro. tie rod bolt kits all have the crimp nuts.
