Not mine but GOOD price if you need them!

NOS 66-70? Big Block valve covers on my local Craigslist. Not sure how "production line" accurate they are, but for $200 I don't think you can really go wrong. How about it Joe? Are these anywhere close to be "correct"? I would imagine not since that part number also fits 66-70 Chevelle, Camaro, Nova, etc... and each of those were different than Corvette covers. (and each other for that matter!)

These are SERVICE-only valve covers; they were never used in PRODUCTION for a Corvette, although it's possible they were used for some other Chevrolet models (I highly doubt it, but I would not rule it out). The right side cover was GM #325174; the left side cover GM #325169.

Notice that these have the rubber plug style oil fill. This style was not used in PRODUCTION until 1971. However, by then, no Corvette valve covers were chrome plated (the few 1971's that might have had chrome valve covers used the twist-lock oil filler). Notice also that the non-oil-filler cover has the raised area where the oil filler would be. This was used for SERVICE-only covers, presumably so the same stamping dies could be used for both covers. This configuration was, as far as I know, not used in PRODUCTION, at least for Corvette valve covers.

Still, they are GM valve covers and they would work for a Corvette application. If someone wanted to "dress-up" a Corvette big block not originally fitted with chrome valve covers and didn't really care about originality, these would be great. Of course, folks using them would have to live with the absolutely miserable rubber oil fill plug.

So, how much are they worth? I'd say about 200 bucks. Maybe.

That's what I figured (and why I didn't jump on them!!) And I guess the title should be changed from "GREAT" price to "good"!

      Thanks Joe
