    Re: Body dimension

Orville, there may be some differences from year to year and depending on the tire size, and body shimming and mounting varies because 66 uses rubber mounts. I can tell my 63 is about 26 3/4 with a 760/15 tire.

Like Ed said, there are many variables. The Assembly Manual (at least '65) has some vehicle heights listed in the suspension section and possibly other places. Good luck, Don H.

        Orville,

If you are just need general vehicle height information, the Vehicle Information Kits available from the GM Heritage Center have the ground to center of the headlight distance as part of the AMA specifications. The kits do not have specific fender height information, as stated before the A.I.M. would be the most likely source.

GM Heritage is committed to preserving the rich history of General Motors brands while providing a foundation for continued innovation into the future.

Once on the GM page, scroll down and select "Corvette". Select the year in question (in your case 1966) and accept the usage agreement. A pdf copy of the Vehicle Information Kit will download. In the case of 1966, the headlight height above the ground is on page 101.
