Got the order wrong Pat is driver side and Rose Pax. side. I'm no hand writing expert but it looks like our Rose signatures are a little different. Maybe Rose had a hangover on one of those days. Also talking about fit. I am having a heck of a time aligning those two upper indented handle screws to hit the clips at the top of the door. Any trick to it?

Hi Dale, Yes, hard to reinstall. Not sure that I have any real insight on getting the those screws in place. I have often used a thin gauge stiff wire to align the screw hole with the holes in clips to make sure i have a straight alignment, or at the very least know what angle to drive the screw. I'd start with those screws, pushing up on the door panel while installing. Hope that helps.

by the way, how did the doors turn out? i think you had them recovered last we spoke?

My panel are both stamped April 8, 1968. Car was assembled on April 18th. One panel has the name of Dot written on it the other has no name on back.

It is interesting to compare to Dale's panels built in Feb. On my April panels they have started to punch the holes through the panel for mounting the separate door pulls that were added late in the model year. The pulls were not yet in production so they went unused. The separate door pulls entered production a week or two after my car was built.

The panels are off right now and I plan on using two tie down straps with padding and snuggling the panel down, align the holes and then put all the screws in. The guy did OK. but I decided not to recover but repair so as to keep them more original.

I just painted the tips of the door pull screws and can see them with a bore scope down next to the glass.
