Mid year? Is it build year or calendar year?

When we say the car or part is a mid year is it when they started building the car or is it the calendar year the car was sold?
Is it when they start building a 65 year model in 64, or is it June?

Mid-year starts with the first 63 built until the last 1967. It is independent of month. By model year it could be different. Say for 63 the first car was built in September of 62, the last August of 63 and for 65 the first car was built in August of 64 and the last August of 65. The last for 64 and 66 and 67 was July.

what I'm trying to find out is what date is mid year for a year such as 1965? Would that year start in August of 1964 when they started building 1965's or January of 1965? In other words 6 Months from September or 6 Months from January?

Maybe a judge, because we hear, common to all years, that there was a mid year change in something such as vendors or use of head marks on bolts etc.

Dom, on a 63 cars were built earlier or later but due to the running changes on the line most of the terminology is on early or late part not the car.

I would say a mid-year change would refer to half way thru the model production year, so about Feb.
