1971 Temperature switch

Can someone tell me if this is the correct part number for the temperature switch located on the right side of the engine. Mine is a 71, LS5 engine with gauges. GM part number is 6490094

No, the original sender was GM #6400759.

Joe,
when I saw this add for the switch it listed the 454 exc gauges. Does
this mean some cars came without gauges, idiot lights or what.

Well, no Corvettes came without a temperature gauge but other cars sure did. The temperature sender for cars without gauges was different than the one for cars with gauges and the two senders are decidedly non-interchangeable.
