Each wheel sensor sends it own signal to the module that's in the dash. The low tire light tells you have a low tire. This an early version of what we have now. The module will tell the body computer is now working, but not which tire is low. A Tech 1 will read the body computer and tell you which sensor is not working not which tire is low. You still need a tire gauge. Hope this helps

Yes, it does. This explains why there is a different sensor for each wheel even though the sensors do not denote which tire is low.

I get what you mean. Dave thanks for the advise. Ken thanks for the link. Does anyone have an idea what they are worth? The 4 in driveline were complete for $100

I've seen them all over the price range. If you can find NOS then you will be paying premium. I have seen used ones go from as low as $30 on up. I believe most are over priced but it comes down to supply and demand. If you can get 4 for $100 with the stainless steel bands I would take a chance and go for it. According to the previous owner of my 90 when the tire company broke all 4 it cost the company $250 each to get them. That would have been about 5-6 years ago.

Here are a few leads for NOS parts. Jim Butler Chevrolet sells NOS on eBay (jimbutlerchevrolet). He actually was the one who gave me these two leads when I was looking for a GM upper rad hose.
