    Rubber Bushings

I am rebuilding the rear suspension on my 70 LT1, and I would like to know if anyone sells the rubber bushings for the rear strut rods. Paragon sells the complete rod with the bushings in them, I just need the bushings. Thanks for your help, Paul

Go to LICS website. They show they have the bushings only for sale. Section #51.

LICS also has the most correct reproduction strut rod with bushings available. After searching and buying other sets I got the LICS ones. Very nice, plus you don't have to remove and press in the bushings.......which requires a press and (perhaps) installation tool. FWIW.

      Paul-------

You can still get them from GM. Assuming that your car still has the original strut rods, the bushings are GM #3775762. These bushings are not exactly like the original bushings, though. The original bushings were vulcanized in place and the rubber extends to and is bonded to the orifice in the strut rod end. The replacement bushings have an outer steel shell and must be pressed into the strut rod orifices. So, one ends up with an installed configuration slightly different than the original.

Paul, over the years I have used the repro bushing and really can tell you they are garbage, Your better off with The GM bushings, They are vulcanized as Joe says they will adhere better the sleeve and metal housing, the repro's tend to slide down the inner sleeve.
